APASS (DR9) Catalogue
The AAVSO Photometric All-Sky Survey (APASS) is a catalogue of 61,176,401 stars covering the sky from -90 to +90 degrees in declination, down to magnitude +16, and containing many dimmer stars. The emphasis is on accurate photometric magnitude data. More information can be found here.
The AstroPlanner version of this catalogue consists of three files: North (Declination +20° to +90°), Central (Declination -20° to +20°), and South (Declination -90° to -20°), a total of 5GB in size, and contains the RA/Dec and V-Magnitude for each star. The Notes field contains data for B, B-V, i', r' and g' magnitudes (where available). The included information is unchanged from the original catalogue.
Notes
- The catalogue is supplied on a Flash Drive, in compressed form. It is not usable directly from the Flash Drive, and requires 5GB of hard disk space for (a complete) installation.
- In theory, the catalogue (or parts thereof) could be burned onto a DVD-ROM and used directly from there, but access would be extremely slow.
- The catalogue is in a format only understandable by AstroPlanner, and cannot be used by other applications.
